According to the supplied account, Christoph developed this 1996 GT2 specification with Rolf Sprenger, with Peter Fraschka involved in the commission. The starting point was the family’s Coppaflorio Blue 964 Turbo S Lightweight with Can-Can Red leather. The GT2 continued the same Coppaflorio Blue and Can-Can Red colour pairing.
Christoph’s explanation is specific: the red indicators were chosen to match the leather inside, rather than the brake calipers or rear lights. The supplied history describes this as the only 993 GT2 fitted with these red indicators at the factory.
The account describes leather covering the vents, radio, switches, door pins, luggage-compartment release, ignition surround, rear-view mirror and instrument rings. Even the key, its fitted case and driving gloves were coordinated. It also records leather pre-shrunk for eight hours in a climate chamber, up to eight selected hides for as many as 75 components, and specially made red Mapotex carpet.
Painted bucket seats, white instruments and body-colour Speedline centres complemented the leather. The supplied specification describes aluminium doors and riveted plastic wheel-arch extensions, with no electric windows, glovebox, luggage-compartment carpet or air conditioning. It also attributes the larger exhaust tips to the following 1997 model year.
Original Porsche photographs of the GT2 became part of the registry’s founding archive. Christoph initially lent them to Laurenz in February 2024 and gifted them to him on 12 March 2024. Their appearance on a specific Exclusive or Tequipment magazine cover has not been established; the photographs themselves and a confirmed publication credit are separate parts of the research.
In March 2024, Christoph specifically recalled choosing the red indicators to match the interior. He described Rolf Sprenger as central to the configuration and Peter Fraschka as handling the order. These first-hand recollections add context to the car’s distinctive specification.
